New w❤c & Giveaway Gets

How is everyone?

I'm excited for the long holiday weekend coming up, even though I'm only off on Monday (T∇T)

So far this week is going really well though!

Yesterday I received the first of my new w❤c haul & the spoils of the gorgeous Alanna aka VivaRilakkuma's giveaway ＼（○＾ω＾○）／ 

The new w❤c is also from mbok & is current season~

The green pepper jumpsuit as seen on Chinatsu in the summer catalogue~

& the I ❤ JAPAN tube top as seen on the adorable Natsumi, who I plan to do a future style idol post on!~

I'm expecting 2 more w❤c arrivals + I will be coordinating with these in the very near future, so expect more to come!

Moving on...

Mode Week = Fail

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! ❤

So far I've had a very full one~ yesterday I went to the Lost River Lake in West Virginia which was kind of scary because I absolutely HATE the wilderness but love the water, so I had a pretty good time! 

（≧∇≦）

Today I stayed in civilisation & did a bit of shopping... I'll probably post my purchases up sometime this week!

 But since some of you showed some interest at seeing my attempt at mode week on twitter, here are the snaps of the first 3 days I got through, haha (#｀ε´#ゞ

Quick note: I hated my face in almost all of these so big pink hearts is what you get!（≧∇≦）

Simple first look~ border crop top + colourblock bandage skirt.

Close-up on my shoes a) because I love shoes & b) because these reminded me a lot of these fabulous ones by w❤c!

Second day~ border tunic, obi belt & leggings.

This probably my best attempt because I was able to incorporate some key elements of mode style! ❤

Love this tunic because it features both power & deco shoulders in one!

Third day not so mode  (ノД`)・゜・。Border top + high-waisted skirt.

This is actually a typical kind of work outfit for me, but I changed my usual pedestrian pumps for a bootie style shoe that is mode-ish (?)

So, as you can see mode week kind of turned into border week!

I am trying to incorporate more versatile pieces into my wardrobe in order to achieve a more concrete representation of this style since it's perfect for work.

Yes, it's morning! & yes, I have to work tomorrow!（≧∇≦）

But I got an early start to my weekend since I went out last night~

We went to see The Karate Kid & then out for late dinner at Applebee's~
It's not something I usually do on a weeknight so it was a lot of fun!

The movie was really cute too~ Jaden Smith is such a tiny version of his dad, haha! ❤

I've had a good one so far... Although I did get sunburned from yesterday's day at the pool (T-T )( T-T) 

Today I've just been in & out of shops so my skin will get a break, haha~

Anyway, on to what I want to talk about today!

Mitsu was the first to introduce me to the amazingness that is mbok when she talked about it back in March ❤ 

For anyone who doesn't already know, mbok is basically an auction site like eBay or Yahoo!Japan but SO MUCH MORE extensive! There are tons of auctions for many popular gal brands on there, including some for recent & past items.  Like other auction sites, you can get brand new items, though the majority of them are used.

I recently scored the spoils of 2 w❤c auctions, which I decided to try out today! 

 ＼（○＾ω＾○）／

 

 

 Everything but the skirt & scarf is w❤c & from the summer 2009 line & was together in the auction.

I was trying to model it after this blog shot of Chinatsu in the same shirt:

The shoes are a size M & a bit big since I have unnaturally tiny feet, but I managed ok with them!

I love this hat! I like to think that 'Let's PE !!' means let's do physical education & not let's go to the bathroom, haha

But we do know that Chinatsu likes her pee&poo humour!

 

I was also able to score an auction for a pair of the famous ultra-destroyed jeans~

I'm glad I decided to go with the size S since they fit somewhat big... but it's ok for the boyfriend style, or if I gain a few pounds, haha!

I think these are also from the summer 2009 line since they look exactly like the ones Chinatsu is wearing in this catalogue shot:

The first auction was 10,000yen total for all 3 items & the second one was 8,000yen for the jeans. My friend who was so kind to bid on them for me only charged me a bit more for shipping, but basically it was just 18,000yen for all 4 items! 

 

Just to give you an idea on how great that is, a pair of these jeans alone from the webshop are 12,000yen ヽ(´Д｀ヽ)(/´Д｀) Add to that a pair of shoes that can run anywhere from 4,900 to 8,900yen + fees from a shopping service... mbok is the way to go!!

❤ for Gilfy Style

How is everyone?

I've been meaning to blog for days now but this week has been beyond crazy （●´･△･｀）

Some good things have happened though & it's almost over, so I'm looking forward to my weekend in the house alone! ＾ω＾ 

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I might take a drive up to Tyson's Corner in DC just to get away.

That or hang out at my friend's pool...

Ok, now I'm getting off topic  (●´艸｀)ヾ 

Gilfy is one of the gal brands I admire most because it has such a distinctive look. Gilfy is cool, a little bit tough, & sexy in a slightly tomboyish way. 

I hadn't officially tried out this style for myself though until last weekend...

Canmake Cream Cheek

ヾ(＠⌒ー⌒＠)ノおはよう !

We now take a break from the weekend-long True Blood marathon to talk about cream blush! 

（＾凹＾）

 

In my last YesStyle order,  I decided to try out Canmake's Cream Cheek blushes since I haven't found a US-made blush that is pigmented enough for my tastes. If anyone is interested, the closest I have found to a high-pigment pink blush that's fairly cheap is Maybelline's Expert Wear blush in Pinch 'O Pink. 

But that's only if you put on A LOT ☆⌒(＞。≪)

 

So that brings me to the Canmake blushes!

Cute packaging, no? o(>▽<)o 

 These are the Strawberry Whip & Vitamin Orange colours. 

I actually prefer the look of cream blushes to powder blushes & wanting to try the dramatic orange colour, I thought these would be especially noticeable.

So what were the results?

My final thought on these blushes is that they are still not as dramatic as I would have liked, but they are definitely better than any of the US-made blushes I have tried. I am excited to try the Candy Doll line though!

Still, I actually really like the way the Vitamin Orange looks on my olive skin tone because it makes my skin look sun-kissed, haha ＼（○＾ω＾○）／ 

 

So for those of you girls with darker skin tones, don't be afraid to try the orange blush trend! ❤

They are actually a little big but the slightly looser fit is comfy~

I almost caved & bought the authentic Lip Service one, but I'm glad I waited & snagged this knockoff instead! It's just as cute as the original & saved me more monies to buy w❤c

Dolly Wink No. 2 Sweet Girly

It's the weekend again!  ♪（*＾ー゜)ｖ（*＾▽＾*）*☆ガンバ☆♪ 

My favourite time every week if you hadn't already noticed, haha!

Today I got my Father's Day shopping done so I feel accomplished!

My dad is the hardest person in the world to shop for so every year is like a test that I must pass ｏｒｚ　もう駄目... 

 

I am also wearing my Dolly Wink lashes so I wanted to share! 

 

 

The top ones are missing because they're on my face, haha（＾凹＾）

 

 On first taking them out of the package, I noticed that they are very high quality & the lashes themselves are very soft~ no plastic material for these!

 

They were really easy to remove too, no extra pulling & tugging required!

 

 

... & here they are! ❤

 

I didn't trim off the ends even though they are a bit longer than my natural eye line because I was going for a super-dramatic-Chinatsu-like look (￣▽￣)ノ＿彡☆バンバン！

 

 

Today's look  ミ☆　

 

I would definitely recommend the Dolly Wink brand not just because it's popular & made by the ever so fabulous 益若つばさ, but because the lashes are amazing quality & look natural & gorgeous! 

My next Dolly Wink purchase will be a pair of their bottom lashes so please look forward to my review on those ・‥…━━━★

Style Idol 若槻千夏 & More Lashes

Today I thought I'd change it up just blogging about personal stuff & post about one of my top favourite style idols, 若槻千夏/Wakatsuki Chinatsu (*･∀･)／♡＼(･∀･*)

& in keeping with the lashes theme, what better way to start than to show off some of her amazing lash looks?  ＼（○＾ω＾○）／

  

 

A pretty tame look from Chinatsu but still lots of drama on the top lashes!  ❤

 

Crazy feather uppers & longer lowers that totally make this outfit pop. This is what I love about Chinatsu~ she takes risks & isn't afraid of looking extreme!

Another dramatic lash look, kind of exaggerated dolly style. I think I would actually try to pull this one off myself since it's not as shocking as feathers on your lashes! (●´艸｀)ヾ 

 

 

Long, glorious lashes paired with glorious curly hair ❤

I love how in each photo, her lashes complement the outfit she's wearing. She is clearly a girl who thinks about the look she wants to present, from head to toe, & manages to pull together an amazing ensemble.  

I definitely aspire to have this kind of style!

Lash-Tastic

How is everyone?

Today is Tuesday but it felt like Monday, so I'm happy it's over! (´ ▽｀).。ｏ♪♪

Also getting over THE TOTMtime of the month so I'll be even happier when this week is over, haha~

But enough blahblahblah, time for more lash talk! ＼（○＾ω＾○）／ 

The 3 day weekend gave me lots of time to practise with different lashes.

These are just the plain Ardell accent lashes #305 paired with my Adult Brown lenses on Saturday.

I was really pleased with how my makeup turned out too ❤

These are the eBay lashes cut into accents paired with my GEO Magic Color Blue lenses from Sunday.

This is a horrible application, haha (；´Д｀) うぅっ。。 

I was lazy & didn't apply any eyeliner so the lashes don't blend in well at all... but you can see how full & dramatic they are!

  

Same eBay lashes & GEO lenses with the addition of the Corner Highlight bottom lashes yesterday.

Did better with the top lashes but I think I placed the bottom lashes too far below my eye line. It's a lot trickier than it seems! 号(┳Д┳)泣

I also skipped out on bottom liner which would have helped to camouflage the bad placement of the bottom lashes better but I'm trying to get away from the heavy bottom liner for day looks（￣へ￣）

If anyone has any helpful tips on applying bottom lashes, please share!
