Fun @ Target (& w/Labelbox)

Thursday, June 23, 2011

Target is one of my favourite places to literally waste half a day~ trying on clothes, playing Wii in the electronics department, flipping through magazines in the book section & spending mindless hours looking at makeup.

The other day I stopped by & decided to record the trip for posterity (⌒.−)=★ I also discovered that instagr.am + Labelbox = awesomeness ❤ I actually ended up buying something that's not pictured here, but I'm really thinking about going back to get that bikini since I am completely on the American flag trend bandwagon now~ the top is reversible too!

Blog ♥

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

So the incredibly awesome Rii of Utsukushii Gal nominated me for this award ♥ I don't really know what to say except ありがとう ! because I really don't think I deserve it! If you don't already know Rii & her blog, you definitely should~ she's one of the best foreign gals on the net & has an amazing style & personality.

Since the first rule of accepting this award is to 1) say something about the person who gives it to you & I've already done that, I'll move on to 2) write something about yourself & your aim with your blog.

I don't really have an aim with this blog, haha ( ̄▼ ̄)ノ_彡☆ばんばん!I honestly just write it because it's something I enjoy. I like to write, I like taking photos & I like fashion~ that's basically it! Although I WILL say I am extremely grateful to have met so many amazing people through this blog. That in itself is reason enough to have it! ♥

& as for 3) give the award to 9 bloggers you like (& don't forget to tell them)~

Thank you all for being such awesome friends~!

Creep

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

I swear, the designers at JC can read my mind... Anyone who keeps up with my twitter or tumblr knows I've been contemplating owning a pair of creepers after seeing the so-ugly-they're-adorable Prada pair floating around the interwebz earlier this season. Now JC has made these 3 amazing choices! The Ad Long really resembles the Prada version, but I'm actually leaning towards the more classic Stinger~

Adorable, non? ♥ This awesome pewter pair is exclusive to San Francisco-based boutique Acrimony but can be bought online here. Might grab these before they're all gone!

KARMALOOP x Jeffrey Campbell

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Since I am an ultra-proud rep of Karmaloop, I thought I would do my part by pimping out their amazing selection of probably my absolute favourite thing in the world~ JC shoes

Not only do they have new arrivals weekly, but I've noticed that they tend to mark down certain styles after a while~ for example, the Exclusive Brown/Beige Snake Lita is now only 136$, down from 175$ & the Black Riddle Paint is now 152$, down from 195$. Are those not fabulous markdowns? Plus you can get an extra 20% off by using my code CHERRI82 at checkout ♪(゚▽^*)ノ⌒☆

Here are my favourites from the new arrivals this week~

Thrifted from the Goodwill

One of my friends is absolutely amazing at thrift shopping. She can literally go into a disorganised Salvation Army or Goodwill & come out with a ton of great stuff. Unlike me, who usually runs out of patience when I don't see anything right off the bat that grabs me (●´艸`)ヾ The fact that she can find so many amazing things has made me try to be a better thrift shopper though, & I think I am slowly getting there.

Found these goodies at a recent trip to the Goodwill ♥ We have 2 here in my town & I decided to try both. All 3 of these items are in complete mint condition & are pieces I've been wanting to add to my wardrobe. The first is a great oversized silk top in a fabulous emerald green that I estimate is probably late 80's/early 90's. I'll probably cut the horrible shoulder pads out of it, haha ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ_彡☆バンバン!Planning to pair this with some shorts & my w♥c belt to give it some shape. The second is a total crazy find from the Jean Paul Gaultier for Target line that never made it to our Target yet here this top is~ it's a size M but I liked the drapey fit. Probably will pair this with denim cutoffs & a bandeau underneath. The last piece is a pair of vintage silk tap shorts. This is probably my favourite find since tap shorts in all kinds of fabrics & textures are trending & I had yet to find the right ones for me. These will look amazing with an oversized top & more than likely my Foxy heels, haha (⌒.−)=★

& of course, the best part of thrifting is...
GRAND TOTAL: 7$

Cracked Concrete

Monday, June 13, 2011

I'm 100% in on the crackle nail polish trend. Sally's Beauty Supply got a shipment of these from China Glaze in a few months ago but they sold out crazy quick... I was finally able to snag one last week. I can't wait to try it over a bright yellow base coat, though maybe that might be too Bumblebee?
( ̄▼ ̄)ノ_彡☆ばんばん!

& speaking of MURUA in my last post~ doesn't this dress look like it was inspired by the s/s collection? Can't believe it's from Target & made of a really nice light cotton blend, not that thicker, heavier cotton material they were using for their maxi dresses last year.

Behind the Scenes at MURUA A/W 2011

Friday, June 10, 2011

Totally teasing sneak peek at MURUA's upcoming autumn/winter offerings. Momoko names the concept as Retro Modern Art & you can definitely see the influence of Andy Warhol (colourblocking, yay!) from the clothes & makeup right down to the set. MURUA had an amazingly strong spring/summer collection & it looks like this one is shaping up to be just as exciting.

Rival mode-kei producer Ena Matsumoto recently peeped her EMODA line's fall collection too~ even though it's hard to tell since her photos are even more teasing than Momoko's, it looks like MURUA is a shoo-in to win this round too. For me, the colours & shapes of EMODA's line just don't seem as inventive.

ごめんなさい, Ena ! (●´艸`)ヾ

EXPRESS chiffon leopard top + layered skirt, random accessories, severely overworn Foxy heels

I still have all the magazines I picked up from Kinokuniya during my trip to NYC last summer, including this copy of the autumn 2010 NAIL VENUS with 若槻千夏 on the cover. My favourite cheapo webshop I refuse to pay 30$ shipping for a fucking magazine, tyvm Amazon JP that sold Japanese magazines went under a while ago & I hate using eBay for magazines so I've been having serious hard copy withdrawal. I miss carrying around my huge-ass glossy J-mags (ノ∇・、)クスン

& yes, the leopard obsession has no end

I also meant to mention that I found out last night I was featured on Your Next Shoes in their article about the Jessica Simpson Bendie~ they are also offering a 15% off coupon for anyone who is interested in purchasing a pair of these amazing shoes!

mukuCHU x EOS FLOWER SERIES BLUE LENSES

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

I received my third pair of sponsored lenses last Friday from mukuCHU. These are from the EOS Flower Series in Blue.
Brand: EOS
Diameter: 14.00mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Life Span: up to 1 year usage

I have seen these lenses reviewed by a couple of other bloggers & thought they were just interesting, but they really are quite pretty in person! I didn't think I would like them as much as I do. I was also happy that I was sent the blue colour, since I prefer more dramatic coloured lenses. The flower design is distinct, yet still subtle~ you can't really see it with the lenses on imho.
 1) without flash, 2) with flash
The colour is definitely more noticeable with flash, as is the design. I would rate these a 9 out of 10, for the comfort/wearability of the EOS brand & the subtle visual effect. The flower design helps to give a bit of enlargement too, so I would recommend these lenses if you are looking for something a little more interesting than the usual coloured circle lens ♡

mukuCHU is also having their Mid-Year Sale~
Go check it out!
