Mini Make Haul & Snaps

I've been sick since yesterday & I got to leave work early, so I thought I'd do a little update just to kill some time（ _ _ ）..........o 

I'm still trying to build up my lash & make collection so whenever I get a chance to splurge some on these items, I do it!

 Two Saturdays ago I went to the higher-end mall about 45 mins from where I live & visited the MAC counter. There were so many things I wanted to buy, but since I hadn't gotten paid yet,  I only bought one thing...

My first pair of MAC #7 lashes~~!! ❤

I wore them for the first time both days this past weekend & even though I love the Dolly Wink brand, I have to say I have definitely been converted to MAC lashes~

I also wore my GEO 3 Tone Magic Color blue lenses which I think made the lashes pop even more

 This Saturday I went to Sally Beauty Supply to see what if they had anything new & came out with these~

 China Glaze nail polish in colour For Audrey & Ardell Fashion lashes.

 

They had an ENTIRE Ardell lash bar set up & it was SO HARD to pick just one pair!

I decided to go with these though because the style reminded me a little of EYEMAZING brand lashes~

The nail polish was another great buy since I think it's the same one Mitsu used for her ethnic nails last month! 

I did my own self-mani with it last night trying to take my mind off feeling sick, haha~

 Please to be ignoring my majorly scratched up & abused phone

The colour is really pretty though!

As a bonus, I also picked up one of the new Maybelline Volum' Express mascaras at Target~

I usually really like Maybelline mascaras, but I wonder if this one will live up to its claim to make your lashes look like 'falsies,' haha  (￣▽￣)ノ＿彡☆バンバン！

Weekend So Far

Since I'm having a quiet Saturday at home tonight, I thought I'd do a little update haha~

Last night I caught a live reggae show with one of my friends here~

I have to say this is probably THE CLOSEST to an actual club we have here in my super-boring little town & last night was my first time going... The bar was set up really nice, the drinks were good, & it was a nice crowd. 

They have regular electro/hip-hop nights here too, so I'm definitely going to go back & check it out!

Today I wore my w❤c maxi dress, which I ended up spilling coffee on while I was driving from Starbucks this afternoon because I'm a klutz (´Д｀。)

I'm happy to report it came right out in the wash~

Before I get on with this post though, I just wanted to thank everyone who left a comment on the twin coordinate post ❤ It was a lot of fun for us to do & I'm happy we could share that joy with you all who read this blog!

But moving on... 

The last of my w❤c haul came in last week, which included these lovely two items from mbok from the spring 2010 collection~

 The floral print maxi dress is brand new with tags!

The shorts are a size M & are HUGE on my waist but I figured if I can wear them down around my hips à la this cutie on the left from the August issue of JELLY, I'll be ok haha!

I also made my first GalStar order which came in last week as well & I was pretty pleased with the goods! ❤ The quality isn't as cheap as I was expecting & the designs are just like what's shown on the webshop.

On the right is this jumpsuit I just HAD to have since I'm really into the Morocco/ethnic trend right now~

 & on the left is this super-hot mode-kei leopard onepiece Mitsu blogged about here: 

 Bear in mind this is supposed to be a tank top but it's shown as a onepiece & notice how it looks on Shizuka. Pretty short, right? 

 

But I don't have a problem with short dresses.

 

Well, here it is on me...

I swear there's AT LEAST an extra half-inch or something on Shizuka's that doesn't make it this hoochie short because I'm only 160cm (5'3"), unless Shizuka is a midget, but that's not even the worst part!

I'm posting early today because I have some extra time + I'm not sure if I'll have any time tonight & this is a post I've been looking forward to doing! ＼（○＾ω＾○）／ 

This past Saturday, the always fabulous & amazing Mitsu agreed to do a twin coordinate with me since we both have the same awesome taste in w❤c, haha~

As you can see, we both had a different take on the same jumpsuit & no, it wasn't planned haha!

Mitsu went with the hot military trend to spice up her biman while I took Morocco/ethnic elements to liven up mine~

Love how she used the sexy w❤c flight cap to coordinate with her band-leader one*spo top!

My claire's head wrap has the long dangling feathers attached, which I thought really echoed ethnic flair.

This was such a fun thing to do & I have to thank Mitsu again for agreeing to give it a go~ you're the best, girl!

How is everyone enjoying their weekend?

I'm happy that the weather has been TOLERABLE, since last weekend was so disgustingly hot! ☆⌒(＞。≪)

Anyway, since I just got back from the pool & wanted to update a bit, I thought I'd post up pics of the two new swimsuits I bought for this summer~

So yesterday I received my second w❤c shipment, which is actually my third if you count the first mbok order... but who's counting?! (￣▽￣)ノ＿彡☆

Since I got them from the official webshop I was able to snag a copy of the summer catalogue too~ I really liked the artsy/blurry photos & softer design of this one. 

 I noticed lots of items that I can't wait to hit the webshop now too, haha ♪(ﾟ▽^*)ﾉ⌒☆

But anyway, here are some quick snaps I took last night~

Weekend Snaps

First day back to work after the holiday wasn't as painful as I thought it would be, though my computer nearly died from some virus I apparently picked up from going on Facebook... Let this be a lesson, lovelies! (//∇//) テレテレ

So I always love long weekends because I get to dress the way I want for 3 entire days, haha  ﾍ(￣ー￣)ﾉニヤリズムッ♪ 

& yea, I just realised I didn't upload the snaps from yesterday, but here are Saturday & Sunday!

Did some loose waves with my 1-inch flatiron that I hardly ever use too, haha~ I was pretty pleased with how it turned out! ❤

Style Idol 出浦寛子 & Body Image

I didn't think I would get to update til later this week but here I am! (￣▽￣)ノ＿彡☆

It's mostly because it's so DEATHLY HOT outside & if you read my twitter, you'll know why I stayed inside today, haha.

Aside from yesterday's drama though, I had a really great weekend ❤

I'm sad that it'll be back to normal tomorrow but at least I have an actual vacation to look forward to at the end of this month!

Anyway... !

I thought I'd do my next style idol post on 出浦寛子/Detsu Korohi since she has become my new inspiration in the gal world ❤

Moment of honesty: Like many if not all girls, body image is something I struggle with everyday. Even though I have learned to look in the mirror & feel 'OK' with my body, I still wish I could be... more. 

More pretty, more skinny, more boobs... haha (●´ω｀●)

But we all know that having a messed up body image is no way to live~ it's not healthy for us to aspire to an 'ideal' that is unrealistic when we are all different heights with different bone structures & different genes. 

& besides, who wants to look like everyone else anyway?

This is why I love Detsu. She's not your 'typical' gal model~ she's got thighs, shapely arms, & bootay (^^ゞ カキカキ 

 Being a bikini dancer helps having this body type, but 武田静加/Takeda Shizuka is also a bikini dancer & she has HALF the body Detsu does, haha!

 She also shows that you don't need to be stick-thin to carry off gal style, in any shape or form~

 Looking fabulous in every shot ❤

& though this doesn't have to do with body image, I have to make a comment about her hair, which looks amazing no matter what she does with it!

Detsu has definitely helped me to appreciate the 'curvier' parts of my body & to me is one of the essential models who is changing the face of gal. 

I really hope we start to see more gals like her taking over the magazine covers!

Quick Update & Trends

Well it's the start of the 4th of July holiday weekend & we have relatives here from NYC so I wanted to do a quick update before I go MIA for a while, haha~

First off, a big ありがとう to all of my new blog followers! 

I really appreciate anyone who stumbles across this little blog & takes time to read/comment/look/whatever ♪(ﾟ▽^*)ﾉ⌒☆ 

Second, thank you to the lovely Lucie Liu who was so kind to sell me her amazing Zara denim skirt which I received yesterday ❤ Expect a full coordinate snap soon!

Now on to the other subject of this post...

Last week I was randomly looking through PopSister's debut issue from last summer, & a few things caught my eye that have transitioned over to this season ＼（○＾ω＾○）／

 Acid-washed denim + huge scarf bow = 2010 summer, no?

Also, the make section highlighted a trend that I've noticed a bit from this season though it has yet to be a real BOOM~
